It has been a few weeks since the last newsletter and as always, much has happened! The team got back to training in late March, and there were many celebrations of academic success here on campus.
However, outside the walls of CSU, the swimming & diving community was once again shook by another GREAT team being dropped! Eastern Michigan University decided to discontinue their men’s swimming & diving program. This being a team that won 34 Mid-American Conference championships and was one of the TOP programs in the mid-major ranks.
In light of the past two years, no swimming & diving program is safe! When you realize that 6 teams have been dropped, that accounts for 150 opportunities to participate in the sport we love. I am so thankful to Wally and ALL of our ENGAGED alumni. Even though we have done much in the past,
we must fight every single day!
I am proud to be part of a program that has worked extremely hard to survive this current landscape. Through Wally’s first efforts, to this past “Giving Day” and the current locker room project, coaches, alumni, family and friends have sent a loud message that
“we love CSU swimming & diving!”
For our program to thrive, we must stay engaged. As a group we will continue to show our love and commitment. We will continue to lead the way in the athletic department, conference and the region.
Please help in our efforts to always raise up
