Food Pantry 
Are you looking for a way to serve? Volunteers are especially needed  to help clients at the Interfaith Food Pantry in Carol Stream. For more information contact Mary Newman or  (630-665-3182).

The food pantries currently have a
special need for diapers in sizes 4, 5 & 6 , along with cooking oil, tuna, toothpaste, toilet paper and women's personal products.

Congregational Meeting
Session has called a congregational meeting for this Sunday, May 27, 2018 immediately following the 9:30 a.m. worship service, to be held in the Sanctuary.  This will be a brief congregational meeting to elect a Deacon for the Class of 2021. This position opened up after the annual meeting when one of the Deacon-elect candidates was unable to accept the position.  The Congregational Nominating Committee has met and submitted a candidate who is willing to fill the position. 
Taste of Wheaton
Saturday, June 2 in Memorial Park from 8:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m.. We need unused children's books to pass out along with our church information at the Taste - this was a big hit last year! Please drop them off at the welcome desk.

Our first photography dates for our upcoming directory event are fast approaching and these dates are ideal for families with college students. We would love to see 100% of you in photos, we need all families to sign up. Our directory will allow us to connect names and faces and stay connected with one another.

Boy Scout Troop 23 Needs Your Help!
Troop 23 has been an important part of First Pres since 1955 and currently has over 80 active scouts. If you are interested in becoming a liaison, and making a difference in these young lives, please contact Ron Hands at (630) 670-6710. The time commitment is small but the impact is huge.
Women's Ministry
Thank You!
Baked goods and handcrafted items were sold last Sunday by the women of our church to benefit the mission giving of Women's Ministry.   Over $700 was raised and we would like to thank all of the bakers, crafters, wrappers, sellers and purchasers of the beautiful goods!  So many participated and we are thrilled to pass along all of the proceeds to some wonderful organizations.

Mission: Cuba Mission Trip
Hope Presbyterian & First Presbyterian Cuba Mission Trip
May 27- June 4
On May 27, eight of us from Hope Church and First Presbyterian Church will be traveling to visit our brothers and sisters in Christ at La Fernanda Reformed Presbyterian Church in Havana. Our days will be filled with bible study, worship, mission work, and fellowship. We will visit some of the other churches in the Presbytery of Havana, both in Havana and in the surrounding rural areas to learn how they do mission and care for one another. We will also take time to visit some of the historic places in and around Havana. Most importantly, we will have the chance to spend time in conversation and prayer with the men, women, and children of La Fernanda.
 
We ask for your help as we collect much needed items that we will take with us. Look for the collection basket in the Rotunda.

Mission
Hearts, Hands & Feet in Action
You can sign up for the remaining Ronald McDonald House opportunity on Thursday, June 21 for meals (10 volunteers needed) to provide meals for the families staying there while their children are receiving treatment.

The People's Resource Center
We have one remaining date to volunteer, June 23 .  We need  12 volunteers to help the clients do their shopping and load their car. You can register for  these Mission Opportunities online at:

Roseland 'Good News' Day Care Center
We continue to collect diapers, wipes, baby food and formula, infant and children's clothing - all sizes, toys, adult clothing, and household items.  Please bring them to the Rotunda coatroom marked 'Roseland'.  Thank you in advance! Abraham's Children
Nazareth Village depicts a trip back to the time of Jesus and is located next to Nazareth Hospital, an institution Abraham's Children has been supporting with medical equipment and Nursing School scholarships. Both Jon Wylie and Pastor Kyle mentioned it in their May slide presentations. Many Christian groups from around the world have volunteered there, either as reenactors or in support roles. WF High School News
Girls'/Guys' Small Groups will continue to meet weekly on Wednesdays, from 6:30-8:00 p.m. Come join us, even if you've never come before. Small groups are a great way to keep your focus on God during the summer months. (We won't have small groups on June 20, while we are away on the mission trip).

SALT and Band Leadership Party
Tuesday, June 5, 7:30-9pm Thank you student and adult leaders for all of your hard work this year! Let's celebrate the end of an awesome WF year with a bonfire at Chris Nickell's house on the last day of school! You've earned it!
 
Mission Trip Treat Partner Bags
Due by Wednesday, June 13. If you signed up as a treat partner, please be sure to turn your bag in on time, so everyone will have a nice treat to help them survive the many hours we will be on the road. If you took a card to be a prayer partner only, please pray as often as you remember your person, and send care cards, too. Care cards are super encouraging to the mission team! It's not too late to be a prayer partner - the Mission Team board is at the welcome desk, along with a card for you to take to help you remember to pray while we are away, from June 16 to June 23!
 
WF Bonfire/Mission Trip Reunion
Wednesday, June 27 from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m. at the Shine's house. Please join us for some outdoor games and tasty s'mores. The mission trip team will share stories and God-sightings from the trip with those that couldn't come. You won't want to miss it!
Recent Events
The Sunday School children had a wonderful celebration last Sunday! Each class took a turn sharing with the families and then they all sang together. It was a blessed year together!
