CURRENT COMMUNITY MITIGATION LEVEL
SUBSTANTIAL TO SHELTER IN PLACE

The health, safety and welfare of our property owners, residents, employees, visitors and businesses are priority one for Hot Springs Village. We encourage social distancing or sheltering in place to prevent COVID19 from spreading in our community.

We also encourage supporting local businesses as can safely be achieved.  Several are offering delivery services, online services, gift certificates and other creative methods to serve their customers and we applaud their efforts.

We encourage you to visit our webpage  https://explorethevillage.com/members/hsv-covid-19/ that is being used to provide the latest updates, including closings and postponements.

While self-distancing and staying at home, it's still possible to remain physically active. For useful tips on staying active during this time of isolation and self distancing, you can visit here

State of Arkansas
Gov. Asa Hutchinson said in his COVID-19 update today that Arkansas is trending lower than projections as far as hospitalizations go. He said this shows that Arkansas' self-distancing directives are working.

There has been 1,094 positive COVID-19 cases in Arkansas, 21 of which resulted in deaths. Currently, 73 people are hospitalized. Hutchinson said the rate of hospitalization has been consistent in recent days with a rate of 2.6 per 100,000.

Hutchinson said that Arkansas currently has the lowest rate of "SEC" states as far as hospitalizations go, which includes the southeastern U.S. plus Texas. He urged Arkansans to continue self-distancing going into Easter weekend, discouraging large gatherings.

Also discussed was the federal government ending funding on testing sites in the states tomorrow.

A statewide map is available that shows national, state and county numbers in regards to COVID-19. According to this map from the Department of Health, 30 people have tested positive for COVID-19 in Saline County, which also reported one death. In Garland County 58 people have tested positive so far and none have died.  As of April 9 at 4:30 p.m., the United States deaths contributed to COVID-19 are 16,267.

Lodging and Short Term Rentals
We continue to receive member concerns related to short-term rental activities. The POA fully supports the Governor's directive related to this activity. The Hot Springs Village Police Department will investigate all reported violations and cooperate fully with all county and state investigations.

Restaurants
Saline County Judge Jeff Arey has been providing daily updates to Saline County leaders and offered this advice in today's briefing: When we shop or go to pick up a meal from local restaurant please remember social distancing still applies and it is recommended that all wear masks in these situations.

Tennis
Today, we received reports that proper social distancing was not being followed at the tennis center.  We continue to stress the importance of 6 foot of distance between people at all times. This distancing applies both to indoor and outdoor recreational facilities. Failure to follow these guidelines will result in the closure of the tennis facility.

POA Employees
The health and livelihood of POA employees remains a priority. All employees are reminded to wear masks while working with others, practice 6 foot distancing at all times, wash hands frequently, self-evaluate each morning prior to coming to work and immediately report health concerns as outlined in the guidance from Human Resources. All employees have the opportunity for alternative assignments and altered work schedules or locations. Employees are encouraged to contact Human Resources for further assistance.
