Stamp Out Hunger
Thank you to everyone who donated to the
Stamp Out Hunger food drive on Saturday, May 12! Over 25,000 lbs was collected by your local letter carriers and made its way to AFAC!
Thank you to all the volunteers who helped leaflet in the neighborhoods and put up road signs as reminders for the community to donate food.
We thank the National Association of Letter Carriers for another successful year, and to Bloomberg BNA, Certainty Home Loans - Corporate, NC State Alumni Association, and Reveille Group, LLC for volunteering on the day of the drive! Check out our Facebook video recapping the day.

Pick up food donations from the Harris Teeter on Glebe Road one Sunday morning a month. You'll use your own vehicle and need to do the pick-up around 7-8am. Email

Ticket Counters Needed
Ballston BID is looking for volunteers to help count Taste of Arlington tickets on Tuesday, May 29th, anytime between 11am and 4pm.
Though volunteers are welcome to stay as long as they can, we request that helpers stay for at least one 1-hour shift at the time of their choosing. We will be counting tickets at the Ballston BID office located at 4600 N Fairfax Drive, Suite 100. We are in the building located directly behind the Holiday Inn Ballston. Plot Against Hunger
New Interactive Facebook Group!
Join Plot Against Hunger's new Facebook group and keep up with the latest happenings in local Plot gardens. Our Facebook group will exchange tips on growing and cultivation methods, volunteer recruitment, disease and pest mitigation, best varieties, planting schedules, seedling and tool exchanges, and planting calendars.
Gleaners - Lets Gather!
Join AFAC volunteers in the age-old practice of gleaning (harvesting leftover crops). We harvest at local farms and orchards during the summer and fall months to bring fresh produce to our clients. Weekday and weekend harvesting opportunities will be available starting in July through at least October. Contact
