Davis & Mid Cities Intersection Improvements Complete

Improvements at the Davis and Mid Cities intersection are complete and all lanes opened to traffic late last week. The intersection has new dual left turn lanes and dedicated right turn lanes to increase capacity and improve overall traffic flow. NRH Public Works will closely monitor signal timing at the intersection and make any necessary adjustments to ensure it is operating efficiently. Street name signs will be installed in the near future.

Boulevard 26 Maintenance Begins this Week

The Texas Department of Transportation is beginning maintenance on SH 26/Boulevard 26 in North Richland Hills starting this week. This work will remove existing pavement, repair the subgrade and lay a new asphalt road surface between NE Loop 820 and Precinct Line Road. To minimize the impact of traffic delays, the contractor will be working at night from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday through Thursday.

Nightly lane closures also continue on portions of Davis Boulevard for a mill and overlay project by TxDOT.

Commercial Redevelopment in NRH

Commercial Redevelopment in North Richland Hills: Warren Plaza

Formerly known as Northeast Plaza, the property at 8703 Bedford Euless Road in North Richland Hills, is being revitalized into Warren Plaza, a commercial center featuring restaurants, professional services, shared office space and retail. Once home to Furr's Cafeteria and a Segway store, this area is just south of SH 183 and north of North East Mall on the NRH border with Hurst.

The property is receiving a modern facelift and new public patio, achieving the developer's vision to create a space for visitors to eat, drink, shop and talk. With completion expected in Summer 2019, some confidential uses have already signed up, as the center is currently leasing. For more information, contact our NRH Economic Development Department at 817-427-6090 or Debbie Mullins with Ready Real Estate at [email protected].

center at 7301 Iron Horse Boulevard to meet Margo and Phoenix today. You can also visit www.nrhtx.com/aarc to see more pets currently available for adoption.

June is Adopt-a-Shelter-Cat-Month and the North Richland Hills Animal Adoption & Rescue Center is overflowing with feline friends looking for fur-ever homes. All cat and kitten adoption fees have been reduced to $10 through the end of June 2019.

Be Mosquito Free

If barbecues, picnics, or other outdoor fun are part of your July 4th plans, remember to apply insect repellent. Using insect repellent  every time you spend time outdoors is one of the most important steps you can take to protect your family from mosquitoes and the diseases they carry.

You should also remove stagnant water where mosquitoes breed from flower pots, trash containers, children's toys, clogged rain gutters and other places around your property. Place environmentally friendly Bti briquets in stagnant water that can't be drained. Any amount of standing water can give mosquitoes a place to lay their eggs.  For more information visit, www.nrhtx.com/mosquitocontrol or call Neighborhood Services at 817-427-6650.
