Youth Advocates Testify to NJ Assembly About the Importance of Tourette Syndrome Awareness
On Thursday, May 17, Amanda Silvers and Charles Griebell sat in front of the New Jersey State Assembly's Health Committee and urged them to pass a joint resolution (AJR44) permanently designating June 4 as "Tourette Syndrome Awareness Day" in New Jersey.
"I am passionate and open about sharing my story and educating others about TS so they learn that there are people in the world just like them," says Amanda. 

NJ Center for Tourette Syndrome Reappoints Tim Howard as Member of Board of Directors

World-renowned goalkeeper Tim Howard reaffirms his commitment to improving the lives of individuals with Tourette Syndrome by continuing his appointment as a member of the Board of Directors for the NJ Center for Tourette Syndrome and Associated Disorders (NJCTS). Howard has been associated with NJCTS, the nation's first Center of Excellence for Tourette Syndrome, since its founding.

"Tim Howard's partnership with NJCTS was formed when he publicly announced his TS diagnosis in 2000," said NJCTS Executive Director Faith W. Rice. "We are delighted to have Tim's continued support and inspiration as we work toward making lives better for individuals and families living with Tourette Syndrome."

The winners are all graduating New Jersey high school seniors in public or private school who have been diagnosed with Tourette Syndrome and will be attending a college, university, or trade school in the fall. They were selected  based upon academic achievement, community involvement, and accomplishments as an individual living with this challenging and complex neurological disorder.

During our 2018 Virutal NJ Walks for TS, several kids and teens stepped up to lead teams across the state raising awareness and funds for NJCTS. Our top five teams, who will be invited to the New Jersey State House for an awareness event, are as follows:
