For their annual general meeting this year the Alberta Association on Gerontology (AAG) is adding an all-day Symposium on "Promoting Environments for Aging Well", along with award presentations and the AAG Edmonton Chapter Silent Auction. 

 
The focus of the event is:

• Understanding the impact of technology change, autonomous vehicles, the transportation needs and urban design effects on older adults
• Emerging policy issues from these presentations
• Recognizing the accomplishments of individuals training for and working in the fields of gerontology and the care of older persons

Taking Charge: New models for Aging in Place, Designed by Seniors, for Seniors, is a research-through-storytelling project aimed at uncovering grassroots models of seniors' supportive living that are emerging across Canada and the United States. It employs a lead user approach to explore initiatives that address the issues of aging in place and senior social isolation, and presents a distillation of key insights and emergent principles extracted from ethnographic site visits. In this webinar you will hear four case studies:

• Homesharing
• Seniors cohousing
• Naturally occurring retirement communities with supportive service program (NORC-SSP)
• Virtual villages

Each case study includes audio documentaries of user experiences, and photographic documentation of community life. A resource package will be provided to participants following the webinar.

This year's edition of the annual Edmonton Korean Spring Festival will be a fun mix of classical and modern entertainment. Within the classical tour, there will be singing performances from Bethel Korean Language School's Children's Choir, Edmonton Korean Choir, Edmonton Evergreen Choir, and Calgary's Mugunghwa Choir, as well as a flute solo and a soprano solo from Seong Haneul and Park Gye-hyen. Within the fun tour, there will be a wide variety of performances from gymnastics to K-Pop to Taekwondo. Edmonton Rhythmics, KoRock, Apricity, ICAN, and Jeong's Taekwondo will be performing.
