For the  parents and families of St. Therese Chinese Catholic School

Dear Parents,

I hope you are safe and healthy during this period of uncertainty. As our families are home together establishing new routines, our hearts and prayers are with those impacted from COVID-19 across our country and the world.

Rest assured, our school community is here for you during our time apart. Our faculty remains committed to continuing to provide a globally inspired, award-winning education for our students. Our students and teachers are adapting to online learning and maintaining a sense of community with each other. The Archdiocese of Chicago and the Office of Catholic Schools have several resources - You may see some familiar faces.

It's been a while since we've been in each other's company. Take a moment to watch a special greeting, "We Miss Your Smiling Faces" in our newsletter. We will soon be able to find joy in each other's company and learning together and I look forward to seeing you all again soon.

As you have noted, re-registration for the 2020-2021 school year has begun and will have a new registration process. Please find a moment to read over the instructions and complete the re-registration process in its entirety ensure to your child's placement for the next school year.

As we enter the holiest week of the Catholic Church, I join the faithful as we pray for all those affected by the COVID-19 virus. May Mary continue to watch over us all.

Wishing you and your family the joy and hope of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ and his blessings.

Best,
Ms. Lisa Deborah Oi
Principal

E-Learning Guidelines

Under the guidelines of Superintendent Dr. Jim Rigg, all Catholic schools will remain closed indefinitely until further notice. St. Therese will continue to implement e-learning instructional programs to our students. *Our faculty is working diligently to make sure students are on track with their studies and have the availability to connect online with their teachers.

Students are expected to visit the St. Therese website under, "Teacher Pages" to find their respective homework assignments for their respective classes. Due to the safety of our faculty, staff, and families, physical copies of homework will not be available for pick-up on campus and will be made available online  ONLY.

Beginning April 17th, Fridays will be considered as  Catch Up Days.   Students may use the additional time to complete weekly assignments, take virtual field trips, or work on art/music lessons. The Archdiocese of Chicago now has a library of lessons available on YouTube to provide extra resources to our students.

During school closure, assignments will  NOT  be assigned on Fridays to ensure students complete their homework on time.
