CROS Ministries // This Week!                                                                         May 22, 2018
A weekly update especially for CROS Liaisons, Board Members, Friends, and  V olunteers
Gleaning
Once again, gleaning this weekend
is in doubt because of all the rain we are having. We
will take another look with our grower on Thursday.
However, if we continue to get more rain, as it is
predicted, the field will remain impassable.

At this time, we do not think there will be a gleaning this Saturday. If anything changes, we will let you know .

The House of Representatives voted on the Farm Bill, H.R.2 last week, and it was defeated. Congress still has until September  30 to reauthorize the bill. Below is another fact sheet from FRAC (Food Research & Action Center) describing how SNAP helps lift and keep low-income women and families out of poverty.

CUTTING FOOD ASSISTANCE IS A BAD DEAL FOR WOMEN AND FAMILIES
Click here for a fact sheet, from the National Women's Law Center and the Food Research & Action Center, describing how the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) helps lift and keep low-income women and families out of poverty, and highlights how proposed changes to SNAP in the 2018 House Farm Bill would harm women and families.
