Eagles in Action
5 th Grade head to the Ronald McDonald House Near Loyola Hospital

There are many families who need to travel far from home and spend several weeks or months to get treatment for their seriously ill or injured children. This is where the Ronald McDonald House comes in: It is that “home-away-from-home” for families so they can stay close by their hospitalized child at little or no cost. By staying at a Ronald McDonald House, parents also can have better communication with their child’s medical team and keep up with complicated treatment plans when needed. They can also focus on the health of their child, rather than grocery shopping, cleaning or cooking meals. The cost of the medical bills is enough to handle without needing to pay for a hotel.
The 5 th grade class will be going to the Ronald McDonald House by Loyola Hospital on April 9. Sometimes, the families are running out the door and would like a treat. Our class will make some muffins, cookies, and puppy chow. We will place the treats in a bag with encouraging words attached to them.
We are asking you to please send in offering money for the month of March  Each classroom has a part of a picture to complete this month. The picture is of a rainbow with a pot of gold at the bottom. The message says that God keeps His promises. God loves and takes care of us, so we too should love and care for others. Thank you for your support of the families at the Ronald McDonald House!

March 8, 12:00pm-2:00pm
On March 8, we will open our school to prospective school families and give them the opportunity to tour the school, receive information, meet staff, and get answers to any questions they may have. Our best recruitment comes through the words of parents, children, and congregation members.

We encourage all current parents to invite another family that could benefit from a quality, Christ-centered education at St. John’s. As an incentive for school families to recruit new students, there is a  $500  incentive toward your children’s tuition for each new family who enrolls because of your influence. We are also looking for families that will help give tours. Please contact the Mrs. Johnson if you are available!
