Traffic Update: April 3, 2020

Due to inclement weather earlier in the week, daytime, alternating single-lane closures for the waterline installation across Longhill Road near the eastern limits of the project have been extended through Saturday, April 4, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Starting early next week, daytime, single-lane closures will be in place again as preparations begin for the first temporary traffic shift on Longhill Road, which include the activation of the temporary traffic signal at Williamsburg West Drive as well as the eradication and striping of pavement markings.

Starting as early as Tuesday, April 7, motorists traveling  westbound  on Longhill Road should anticipate a new traffic pattern shifting traffic left to the inside of the roadway, from just east of Williamsburg Plantation Drive to Olde Towne Road. Eastbound traffic will remain in its current alignment during this phase of construction.

This work is dependent upon weather conditions; therefore, the schedule is subject to change. Access will continue to be maintained for local businesses and residences.

While traffic volumes have decreased during this time, motorists are reminded to please continue following the posted speed limits and drive with caution through all project work zones.
