Williston City Commission approves Emergency Municipal Declaration
News Release - The Williston City Commission has approved an emergency municipal declaration for the City of Williston in response to the public health crisis arising out of the novel coronavirus. The declaration will remain in place until further notice. Read More Emergency Municipal Declaration
Williams County Commission adopts Public Health Emergency Declaration
News Release - Today, Williams County Commission Chairman Steve Kemp signed a public health emergency declaration for Williams County in response to the ongoing local, national, and global COVID-19 situation. The declaration is in effect for 7 days and will be revisited during the April 7, 2020, regular Commission Meeting. Read More
Williston Mayor urges Physical Distancing
News Releas e - The City of Williston is reminding residents to adhere to the COVID-19 preventative measures now more than ever. “As you have probably already heard, the North Dakota Department of Health has released information that included two positive COVID-19 cases in Williams County on March 31,” said Williston Mayor Howard Klug. “While we urge residents not to panic, it is paramount that we all practice physical distancing to protect our community.” Read More
WPRD closes Public Playgrounds, Skate Park
News Release - The impact of the coronavirus pandemic has made its way to Williston’s playgrounds and the skate park. Williston Parks and Recreation District (WPRD) will be closing all playgrounds, including the skate park, effective immediately (4/1/2020) in an effort to minimize the spread of the COVID-19 virus until further notice. KUMV-TV - The city’s largest celebration is traditionally held every Mother’s Day weekend, but this year it will take place sometime in Fall due to the CDC’s COVID-19 recommendations. Read More
Cherry Creek Media remains Open, Smiling Moose offers Free Delivery
Williston Economic D evelopment - Cherry Creek Radio and Smiling Moose Deli are working through the pandemic. “During this COVID-19 crisis, local radio is still a trusted source of information and community connection,” says Dee James of Cherry Creek Media. “Our radio stations: 660 KEYZ News Radio, Dakota Country Z96.1 and Power 95, are keeping listening audiences up-to-date and plugged in to what matters.” Meanwhile, the Smiling Moose is offering takeout and free delivery during the COVID-19 crisis. “We are trying to get a ‘Business Delivery Service’ rolling where we would deliver food to the larger local employers on a set schedule each week or every day if they so choose,” said Nathan Everson of Smiling Moose.

Regulators approve Two Pipelines
Bismarck Tribun e - S tate regulators approved two pipelines Wednesday: One that will carry carbon dioxide to the southwestern corner of North Dakota, and another to transport natural gas liquids across the northwestern part of the state. The Public Service Commission granted permits for the projects in unanimous votes during a meeting held via conference call in light of the coronavirus pandemic. Read More

Williston Public Works will host a community outreach day on May 20 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at the new Public Works Facility. Equipment will be on display and staff will be on hand to discuss the services public works provides.
