Join Us for a Week of Stellar Performances
Fifth-year PhD Will Jones shared his thoughts on Much Ado About Nothing playing this week in the Mandell Weiss Forum .

"To me  Much Ado  is a play about the lies we tell each other. The little white lies we tell to help a friend, the lies we tell to get what we want, or the lies we tell ourselves to make life a little brighter. In the same way, one of the greatest gifts that theatre has to offer an audience is the ability to imagine the world differently through storytelling. And what is a story but a lie we agree to believe temporarily? This production interweaves the stories the characters tell in the play with the stories the actors tell on stage in order to embrace the idea that, the fact that its fiction doesn’t make it any less true."

Much Ado About Nothing performs Feb 12 - 15.

Ironbound in performance this Friday & Saturday
Ironbound  is an uphill battle. An immigrant woman who gets knocked down but chooses to get back up over and over again, an immigrant man who needs to follow his dreams, a teenage boy who just wants to feel valuable, and a working class man who is fighting to hold onto the person he loves all collide in their search for safety. In this gripping play, Majok   asks us to examine what we are holding on to, who we trust, and how hard are we willing to fight to protect what's important to us

Happening Around Campus
Feb 12, 2020 at 6:00 pm Milijohn Ruperto Guest Lecture
"Based in Los Angeles, Miljohn Ruperto is a cross-disciplinary artist working across photography, cinema, performance, and digital animation. His work refers to historical and anecdotal occurrences, and speculates on the nature of assumed facts and the construction of truth. Often involving replicas, modified versions, and enactments [...] Ruperto takes cultural and historical references and untethers them from their original context to challenge our perception and generate something altogether new."

Last Three Weeks of What The Constitution Means to Me at CTG in LA starring MFA alumna Maria Dizzia!
MFA acting alumna Maria Dizzia has three more weeks at CTG in LA, so you still have time to see her.

"Maria Dizzia brings to life the maddening, mournful history of how women’s bodies have been abused by laws and the male-dominated courts imperiously interpreting them. If the show sounds like it might have a medicinal aftertaste, rest assured that it is playful, often amusing and at times piercing in its pathos." Charles McNulty,  Los Angeles Times
