The Students for Sustainability Club, in partnership with the ASCP, are proposing a student fee increase of $3 per student per semester to primarily fund the addition of composting services and the enhancement and ongoing maintenance of waste diversion among campus buildings and exterior spaces. The new total ASCP fee amount of $8.58 per student, per semester, would take effect beginning in the fall of 2020.
Tell us what you think! Take our bi-annual survey to give us your perspective on the ASCP and its priorities. The information gathered by this survey will inform how sustainability efforts are implemented on the Auraria Campus.

All students, staff, and faculty from the Community College of Denver, Metropolitan State University of Denver, and the University of Colorado Denver who have attended or are currently attending classes at the Auraria Campus are invited to participate.

By participating, you will be entered for a chance to win a gift card for a campus food vendor!

DID YOU KNOW?

According to a report published by the United Nations Educations, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO):

  • The global average water footprint of lettuce is about 32 gallons/lb
  • One egg has a water footprint of about 53 gallons
  • The global average water footprint of beef is about 2,000 gallons/lb (this is predominantly [94%] green water, which is water from plants used to feed livestock)

Reducing your intake of animal products helps reduce the amount of water used to raise livestock.

Consider switching to Meatless Monday!

Pro move: switch to Meat Monday, where you limit your animal product consumption to one day per week.
