Cold Temps Can Be A Sticky Situation
If Your Barcode Labels Aren’t Up to the Task
As important as having the right device in a cold environment is, it’s equally important to have the right barcode labels. Commercial-grade adhesives just don’t cut it on frozen or refrigerated items, and shifts in temperature can cause labels to buckle and lift; resulting in lost labels, unidentified items and headaches for your workforce.

Learn more about specialized labels for cold storage in our blog and make sure you’ve got the real deal.

Don't Get Left Out in the Cold!
Don’t Get Left Out in the Cold…without a device and media designed for cold environments. Applications in cold storage and other cold warehouse settings demand a mobile computing device like Honeywell’s CK75. The cold storage version includes touch screen and scan window heaters to support extended use in freezers as well as transitions into and out of freezer areas. Ideal for all users, the CK75 accommodates gloved hands and a temperature range of -30°C to +60°C (-22°F to +140°F).

If you’re in search of a device that can stand up to your cold storage and freezer areas, be sure they’re designed with components that stand up to cold, along with rugged housing sealed to prevent moisture and condensation from entering the device. An IP (Ingress Protection) rating of 65 or higher is ideal; this indicates ability to withstand dust and water sprays. A low-impedance lithium-ion battery indicates a suitable device; this type of battery is designed to release a charge in colder temperatures unlike common Li-Ion batteries.

Have a unique application in a particularly harsh environment? We can help you determine the best solution from start to finish.
Finding Great Deals Online? Beware!
Savvy shoppers know when a price is too good to be true. This applies for barcode scanners, barcode label printers and mobile devices as well. If you find a device online for a much lower-than-normal price, chances are it is a gray market product (meaning it entered the channel via an unauthorized reseller).

What does this mean for you? If it is determined the product was sourced outside approved channels, it will not be eligible for warranty repair, service or even technical support. If you’ve procured a product online and believe it could be a gray market item, contact us and we’ll research it for you.
