Boerne Utilities Brush Collection Rules
City crews pick up residential brush trimmings from Boerne Utilities Customers who make a request. Every customer gets 1 yearly pick-up included in their utility payment; additional pick-ups in a 12 month period cost an extra $25 each.
The Power Rush Hours
Traffic is a real pain during a typical rush hour. Did you know that electric lines also get crowded during peak times when we all use electricity at the same time. Energy demand generally peaks from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. By shifting your energy use off of these peak hours you could save money. Steer away from using your major appliances during the peak times whenever possible.
Stage 1 water conservation rules are in effect for Boerne Water Utility customers
Recent rains have been great giving our lawns and gardens a healthy boost. Just remember that if you are a Boerne Water Utility customer you are still required to follow the Stage 1 "mandatory" water conservation rules. Most lawns in our area only need about 1" of water per week, so over-watering is just not necessary, plus it costs you extra money!

Don't fall for this scam
Cyber criminals are exploiting the Hurricane Harvey disaster. There are fake Facebook pages, tweets are going out with fake charity websites, and phishing emails are sent out asking for donations to #HurricaneHarvey Relief Funds. Don't fall for any of these scams.

If you want to make a donation, go to the website of the charity of your choice and make a donation. Type the address in your browser or use a bookmark. Do not click on any links in ...emails or text you might receive. Whatever you see in the coming weeks about Hurricane Harvey disaster relief... THINK BEFORE YOU CLICK.

Plant a Tree for Boerne
The Boerne chapter of the Native Plant Society of Texas continues to give away free Bigtooth maple trees to Boerne residents. October 1 is the deadline for applications.

Library Card Signup Month
During September, crime fighting DC Super Heroes, the Teen Titans, are teaming up with the American Library Association to encourage K-12 students to sign up for a FREE library card.

The Patrick Heath Public Library is focusing on middle-schoolers who can sign up for a student card and gain access to the library's digital resources.

The Boerne public library is loaded with resources and activities for all ages.

Back to school rules at the Patrick Heath Public Library
Children ages 10 and under are not allowed on library grounds after school without a parent or guardian at least 16 years of age being present. However, during library programming; children 8 years of age and older may attend scheduled library programs without a responsible adult. Prompt pickup at the end of programs is appreciated.
Parents, should be aware that there is no supervision at all on the outside of the building; the woods behind the library are not a safe spot for children and teens to hang out.
All teens age 11 and older will be asked to sign a “behavior pledge” agreeing to abide by library rules.
German Car Show at Main Plaza
The Longhorn Region of the Porsche Club will be celebrating its 55th anniversary with a display of cars representing the last 55 years of Porsche design. Check them out at this FREE event Saturday, September 23, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Sewer smoke testing continues in Boerne
Weather permitting, Boerne Utilities work crews will be conducting smoke test surveys throughout Boerne over the next several months. This testing is a very effective way for crews to locate leaks, breaks and defects in the city’s sewer system. Residents may see harmless smoke coming from the vent stacks on houses or holes in the ground. The smoke is non-toxic and non-staining, has no odor, is white to gray in color, and does not create a fire hazard.
