HYDE PARK, NY -- The Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum presents a conversation and book signing,
"FDR and the Struggle for Justice in the Second World War," with Dan Plesch and Graham B. Cox -- and moderated by David B. Woolner -- on Monday, November 4, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. The program will be held in the Henry A. Wallace Center at the FDR Presidential Library and Home.
This is a free public event but registration is required.
Dan Plesch is the Director of the Centre for International Studies and Diplomacy at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) at the University of London. He is the author of
HUMAN RIGHTS AFTER HITLER: THE LOST HISTORY OF PROSECUTING AXIS WAR CRIMES (this title will be for sale in the New Deal Store during the book signing on November 4); AMERICA, HITLER AND THE UN; coeditor of WARTIME ORIGINS AND THE FUTURE UNITED NATIONS; and has been a contributor to such publications as the
Guardian, the
New York Times, the
Washington Post, and the
Financial Times.
Graham Cox is a Senior Lecturer at the University of North Texas, and author of
SEEKING JUSTICE FOR THE HOLOCAUST: FRANKLIN D. ROOSEVELT, HERBERT C. PELL, AND THE LIMITS OF INTERNATIONAL LAW (this title will be for sale in the New Deal Store during the book signing on November 4). His research focuses on the intersection of law, war, and society, with a special emphasis on crimes against humanity.
David B. Woolner is Senior Fellow and Resident Historian of the Roosevelt Institute, Professor of History at Marist College, and Senior Fellow of the Center for Civic Engagement at Bard College. He is the author of THE LAST 100 DAYS: FDR AT WAR AND AT PEACE, and is editor/co-editor of five books, including PROGRESSIVISM IN AMERICA: PAST PRESENT AND FUTURE; FDR'S WORLD: WAR, PEACE AND LEGACIES; and FDR THE VATICAN, AND THE ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH IN AMERICA.
