Take Action Today! Support Safe Drinking Water for ALL Californians

One million Californians are impacted by unsafe drinking water each year. Imagine turning on the tap in your home and having contaminated water come out. Imagine worrying that your children will accidentally drink unsafe water in your home or at their schools. Imagine the stress of having to buy bottled water for drinking, cooking, and even bathing. For one million Californians, many of them low-income, unsafe water is a daily, life-defining reality.

A solution to provide safe drinking water to ALL Californians is within reach...but time is running out.

Governor Brown and lawmakers have introduced bipartisan legislation -- SB 844 and SB 845 (Monning, Vidak) -- to create a Safe and Affordable Drinking Water Fund to make sure that ALL California communities have the resources they need to provide safe drinking water.

Legislators have until this Friday to pass this historic legislation and to put an end to California's unjust and unequal drinking water crisis. But we need your help.

Please take a minute to express your support for providing safe and affordable drinking water for all Californians.

We cannot let this opportunity slip away. 1 million Californians are counting on this legislation to pass by Friday -- and they need you to act. Click below to show your  support for safe drinking water for ALL Californians .

Last week, our state legislators confirmed what we already know: California should feed kids no matter where they go to school.  AB 1871 (Bonta) passed out of the Senate and now heads to Governor Brown -- the last and biggest hurdle on this long road to giving children in charter schools equitable access to school meals.

What's Next?
Governor Brown has until the end of September to sign or veto bills. He can act on AB 1871 at any time, so let's raise our voices now!

Here's how you can help.

Hello. My name is ________. I live in ______, CA. I am calling to ask Governor Brown to sign AB 1871, a bill authored by Assemblymember Bonta, that will give low-income students in charter schools guaranteed access to school meals. I believe that all children living in poverty deserve nutritious meals, no matter where they go to school. Thank you.
