Don't forget to move your clock forward March 8 to begin Daylight Saving Time. Forty-eight states participate in DST; only Arizona and Hawaii do not observe the time shift.
NOT TO MISS: This year, UEN will be celebrating Women’s History Month with a special event honoring indigenous women. Madonna Thunder Hawk, one of the central figures in the film "Warrior Women," will visit the University of Utah campus at the beginning of March to help celebrate Women's History Month and honoring Indigenous Women's Call to action.

  • Multicultural Youth Leadership Day: High school students and educators will gather March 9 at the University of Utah to learn about community advocacy and service learning.
  • Read Across America Day: The National Education Association invites schools to plan events to encourage students to read. The national Read Across America Day is March 2, but National Reading Month continues throughout March.
  • Leading Schools Summit: Principals can register now to participate in a three-day conference in June. The event will focus on student-centered learning, and personalized and digital learning initiatives.
  • Upcoming Conferences: Register now to attend the UELMA conference March 6 in Ogden, or the UCET conference March 10-11 in Salt Lake City.
  • UEN's Local Content and Service Report: UEN's annual report to the Corporation for Public Broadcasting highlights the amazing things the Utah Education and Telehealth Network is doing to promote the CPB mission.
  • Career Education: What issues and opportunities do women encounter in male-dominated STEM fields? Watch “Ms. Scientist” on UEN-TV, March 9 at 9 p.m.
  • New Associate Director for UTN: The Utah Education and Telehealth Network has hired Matthew L. McCullough of Layton as a an associate director of the Utah Telehealth Network. McCullough will work side-by-side with long-time associate director Deb LaMarche, who is retiring in July.
  • Kick Ash Film Festival: Audience Choice voting will be open March 9- March 13, for the Kick Ash Film Festival, a short-film event sponsored by the Salt Lake County Health Department. This year's theme is "Huff, Puff, Hooked" and submissions highlight the dangers of vaping or the negative influences driving e-cigarette use among teens.

Also included are "The Grand Canyon," a tour of the geologic feature using aerial photography, on-location images, and computer graphics, March 18.
