FROM MS. LAMBROPOULOS

Energy parents and students!

Happy First Day of School! Thank you for making the first day SMOOTH and entrusting us with your children! Most of all, I want to thank YOU for making history with us at Energy Institute High School. Today, we opened our doors to a packed house! This day was FIVE YEARS in the making. It is an honor to provide your children with a learning environment which measures up to the extraordinary STEM and Project Based Learning education they have been receiving at Energy. I wholeheartedly believe we have established programs at Energy that make it one of the best high schools in the country. Now we get to do it in a beautiful place that will highlight the academic achievements of our students.

I'd like to make sure you have the following important dates on your calendar:
Friday, August 31st @ 8am: Parent Coffee
Wednesday, September 12th at 6pm: Back to School Night

We can't wait to get the year in full swing. Hang on - we are going to have an incredible year!
ARRIVAL AND DISMISSAL PROCEDURES

We hope that your child enjoyed their day today. Once all of our buses and students arrived, things went smoothly on our end!

We have a few additional details and reminders regarding pick up and drop off to help make things more efficient so traffic can move a bit faster.

For AM drop off, as long as there is a line of cars behind you, please make sure that you move all of the way through the circle drive before you stop and let your child out. We want to get students out of cars and to class as fast as possible. Please do not cut through the parking area to drop off or cut in front of other cars when exiting the drive.

For PM pick up, when you arrive, please pull all of the way up in the loop until you reach Southmore so we can fit as many cars into the loop as possible. Do not leave large gaps between cars. If you can contact your child, please let them know where you are in the line and they can walk to your car, but please do not have your child walk across Southmore in traffic. There are no crossing guards and we want to keep everyone safe. Once your child is in your car, please use the left lane to exit the driveway. The right lane is for picking up students and the left lane is for exiting once you have your child. Also like in the morning, please do not use the parking lot to pick up students or to cut in front of other cars.

Finally, please be mindful of the staff directing traffic. If everyone cooperates and follows the same procedures we can get everyone moving much faster.
TRANSPORTATION

We are aware of a number of transportation issues and are working with families and the transportation department to solve these. Please continue to be patient as they work through these adjustments. At the same time, please let us know your concerns if we have not yet heard from you so that we can advocate for our families as well. We appreciate everyone's patience today and ask for continued patience over the next two weeks. Please use the  HUB FINDER to verify your HUB location.
