The year of 2020 will bring some happy new chapters to Eagle Harbor Book Co. Later this year, we will celebrate our 50th year serving Bainbridge Island! Look for promotions and activities throughout the year to celebrate this outstanding milestone. We are lucky to have such and dedicated and supportive community, and we look forward to many more years together.
In this issue we celebrate some of our favorite books of 2019, and present many of the latest new releases. Our robust event schedule continues, and our in-store book groups are ready to welcome you. There's always an experience waiting for you at the bookstore, so we hope to see you soon.

Join local author and University of Washington professor Tyler Sprague to celebrate his new book Sculpture on a Grand Scale: The Thin Shell Modernism of Jack Christiansen. Many know the fate of Seattle's iconic dome, but fewer are familiar with its innovative structural engineer, Bainbridge Islander Jack Christensen (1927-2017), and his significant contribution to Pacific Northwest and modernist architecture. Sprague places Christiansen within a global cohort of thin shell engineer-designers, exploring the use of a remarkable structural medium known for its minimal use of material, architecturally expressive forms, and long-span capability. |
