NJ PE license renewal extended by 60 days

Attorney General Gurbir S. Grewal announced that, in an effort to protect the public by limiting in-person contact that could result in the spread of COVID-19, multiple divisions within the Department of Law and Public Safety are extending the board deadlines for renewing and submitting licenses. The Governor's office has officially announced that Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors deadline for renewing and submitting licenses will be extended by 60 days.

THE BOARD OF PROFESSIONAL ENGINEERS & LAND SURVEYORS LICENSING DEADLINES HAVE BEEN EXTENDED BY 60 DAYS. 

All of these dates have been extended by 60 days:
  • Renewal applications will be mailed in mid-February, 2020. Renewal applications are not available on the website.
    Renewal Fee is $80.00
  • New licenses will become effective April 1, 2020 and are active for two (2) years
  • May 1, 2020 - May 31,2020 - Renewal Grace Period
  • $80.00 Renewal Fee + $50.00 Late Fee = Total of $130.00
  • June 1, 2020 - License Reinstatements Begin
  • $80.00 Renewal Fee + $125.00 Reinstatement Fee = Total of $205.00

Meanwhile, the Department is taking additional steps to curb the spread of COVID-19 by limiting in-person transactions between its personnel and the general public, and encouraging members of the public to communicate with the Department's staff via telephone, email, and other forms of remote communication when possible. Some agencies within the Department that frequently conduct in-person business with members of the public are temporarily closing walk-in offices and/or expanding the services that they provide remotely.
