Address from Chairperson Mike Ksiazek

Mike Ksiazek - Our Response to Coronavirus
Mike Ksiazek - Our Response to Coronavirus
Board of Supervisor Chairperson Mike Ksiazek issued a statement on Monday, March 16, about the status of the Coronavirus epidemic in our area, and the steps being taken by Township officials and other organizations to address the direct and indirect threats posed to everyone in our community.

The Township is calling on the business community to heed Governor Wolf's call to close non-essential businesses in an effort to curtail the spread of the Coronavirus. He echoes our community's sentiment of appreciation for the sacrifices being made by area businesses in the name of public health.
Municipal Center Closed to the Public

The Middletown Township Municipal Center is closed in an effort to limit the spread of the Coronavirus. The building will be closed for at least two weeks. As of now, the Municipal Center is scheduled to reopen on Monday, March 30th.

As the global pandemic evolves, the reopening of the building is subject to change. For now, limited staff will be processing emails, voicemail, and postal correspondence on an as-needed basis. Many services will be postponed.

In addition to emergency responders, key staff are still conducting business remotely and are available by email and phone. If you place a call to one of our staff, please leave a voicemail with an email address so you can be contacted sooner.
High-Touch Park Amenities Closed

Under the advisement of Governor Wolf to practice social distancing, the Board of Supervisors has decided to close all high-touch recreational amenities at all parks in Middletown Township, effective immediately.

This closure will affect all playgrounds, basketball courts, and the Middletown Skatepark.   Even though children and young adults are less likely to contract the Coronavirus, everyone can still spread it.

We know our parks are an important outlet if you find yourself cooped up at home.  For now, our parks will remain open, but residents are advised to limit their use and interaction with others.  We do not make this decision lightly, but believe it is in the best interest of the community and public health.

As soon as it is advisable to do so, we will reopen these park amenities.
Guide to Social Distancing

Anna Payne - Social Distancing is for Everyone
Social distancing is the act of reducing face-to-face contact with others which may help slow and reduce the spread of disease.  Social distancing is the responsibility for everyone, not just those who are sick, to limit in-person interact to restrict our ability to spread disease.

As Supervisor Anna Payne reminds us, the elderly and those with compromised immune systems are at the greatest risk to contracting the Coronavirus. You can practice social distancing by avoiding contact with people who do not live with you, only leaving your house to purchase essential supplies, and maintaining at least six feet between you and other people. I f you have the ability, stay home as much as possible, limit use of public transportation, and work from home as much as possible.

The Board of Supervisors meeting on Monday, April 13th, is still scheduled to occur, though this is subject to change. Please continue to check the Township website and our Facebook page for information about future cancellations of events and meetings.
