Greetings!
I am thrilled to announce (drum roll please) the release of the new LVCC website! The new site is much more user friendly and mobile device responsive. It includes interactive maps highlighting LVCC member locations and an interactive calendar of events. Member articles are now front and center on the home page. I want to acknowledge Tom Petty of WSI Smart Solutions for producing this beautiful and functional site for us. Visit the new site at
www.livermorechamber.org
and check it out!
The agricultural economy was the theme of our July 27 luncheon. Thank you to our speakers - Alameda County Supervisor Scott Haggerty, Nancy Light of the Wine Institute, Darrel Sweet of Sweet Ranches and Karl Wente of Wente Family Estates. Agricultural activities in the Livermore Valley generate millions of dollars in economic impacts in this region. We look forward to supporting our agricultural partners as they seek to improve regulations, policy and infrastructure to strengthen the economic vitality of this important Livermore Valley industry. Click here for more on the program. I hope that you will join us on August 24 for the First Annual LVCC #LivValBiz Awards luncheon. Nominate your favorite LVCC members in 6 categories by August 11.
Thursday, September 21(NEW DATE) -
with Senator Steve Glazer and Assembly Member Catharine Baker,

PG&E Survey Finds that Only One in Seven Customers
Call Free 811 Utility Marking Service Ahead of Digging Projects
Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) announced findings from a recent survey of 1,750 of its customers that shows 811 - the free service to mark underground utility lines - is well-known but misunderstood and underused in Northern and Central California. To keep everyone safe when digging, PG&E is urging all of its customers, excavators, first responders and businesses across the state to promote the free service and most importantly - to use the service two business days ahead of any digging projects.

Set aside one day a month to learn about the community you live and/or work in! Classes meet the 3rd Tuesday of each month unless otherwise noted.
One of the most innovative programs in the Bay Area,
Leadership Livermore
, is about to start the 2017/18 session. Space is limited so as to provide the most effective networking, sharing, and learning among the students.
Leadership Livermore is a nine month (September - May) program sponsored by the Livermore Valley Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the City of Livermore. The class, which is held one day each month, brings approximately 25 participants together to get a behind-the-scenes look at the community and to build relationships with other business and community leaders.
Leadership Livermore is an ideal program for business executives and future leaders who will benefit from an instant "in" to who's who in the community and the State of California.
Each month you'll learn new things about the community, the city, local businesses and our government. You will get to experience first-hand the inner workings that most people never get to see.
It's an excellent opportunity to network, connect with peers, and meet people who are themselves leaders, while learning about Livermore and the region. Find out what makes this area so innovative and so special.
