Campus life
After experiencing the death of his father and grandmother, his wife leaving him, and trouble in school, the Montana native needed a fresh start. Aviation was his passion and K-State Polytechnic was where he was headed.

Events
All in-person events cancelled
K-State plans to maintain limited operations through the end of the semester, based on the latest guidance from Kansas Gov. Laura Kelly and the Centers for Disease Control. All in-person events and meetings are cancelled at this time, including commencement on May 9.
Scholarship opportunities
Aviation Students
The GAMA Edward Stimpson Award is a $2,000 scholarship. Must have a 3.0 or higher GPA and be majoring in aviation. DEADLINE: April 15

The Captain Jason Dahl Scholarship fund is accepting applications. Must be a full-time student having completed at least one semester at an accredited four-year university located within the U.S. and must be majoring in aviation.
Aviation Maintenance Students
Aircraft Electronics Association is offering a variety of scholarships for aviation maintenance students. DEADLINE: April 1
Engineering Students
Raymond G. Alvine Memorial Scholarship is a $5,000 scholarship available to a student pursuing a career in mechanical, electrical or architectural engineering. Must have a 3.0 or higher GPA and be enrolled full-time. DEADLINE: March 31
Nontraditional Students
The Edna S. Young scholarship is a $500 scholarship open to a K-State non-traditional student. Must be enrolled full time in a degree-seeking, undergraduate program. DEADLINE: April 1
Pilot Students
ADMA is offering a scholarships to students majoring in professional pilot or aviation management. Must have a 3.0 or higher GPA. DEADLINE: April 16
Veterans
A $1,000 scholarship is being offered to a K-State student who is a veteran. Must be enrolled full time in an undergraduate program. DEADLINE: March 30

The VFW's "Sport Clips Help a Hero Scholarship" is open for the fall semester. Scholarships of up to $5,000 will be awarded. Must hold a rank of E-5 or below. DEADLINE: April 30
Summer school information
If you will be enrolled in at least six hours at K-State Polytechnic this summer, you might qualify for financial aid. Complete and submit the summer financial aid application AFTER you enroll in classes.
