Composting 101: Tips for Composting Newbies!
Composting sounds intimidating and messy but with a few quick tips you can be up and running and saving the world in no time. I can attest to this because I myself am a composting newbie having started my compost to enrich the soil in my veggie garden as well as reduce the amount of kitchen waste that goes into our overcrowded landfills. There are many reasons to compost such as reducing and recycling food waste and household trash, this in turn reduces greenhouse gases, composting adds nutrients to the soil at a fraction of the cost and is overall good for the environment.

Yoga Pose of the Month:
Tree Pose
Sanskrit Name: Vrksasana ( vrik-SHAH-suh-nuh )

Balance is the name of the game in this nature inspired pose! If you have ever struggled to stay steady in your tree pose than you are completely normal (try holding this pose while looking at crashing ocean waves, I double dare you!). Balance is an illusive concept that most of us never seem to feel like we actually achieve, but taking yoga poses and applying them to every day life is what I find so valuable about having a daily yoga practice. It is a reminder that yoga isn't only practiced on the mat but that it should be carried in our hearts everywhere we go.

Tree pose can be challenging, but with a little concentration and technique you can gain the balance and steadiness to hold as strong and steady as a 100 year old Oak. If you fall out of the pose, as you inevitably will at some point, just come back to the basics, refocus and breathe.

Wednesday| 8:15pm-9:15pm Yin Yoga , unwind after your day and your workout, you can melt into this restorative slower paced practice that is designed to increase circulation and improve flexibility. You will leave this class feeling calm, centered and ready for a restful night of sleep.

Saturday| 11:30am-12:30pm Vinyasa Flow , we will flow through a set of postures, while connecting breath with movement. This class is designed to stretch, strengthen and invigorate you to take on your day!
