THE BRENT SPENCE BRIDGE MAINTENANCE 2017 PROJECT IS TRANSITIONING TO PHASE 3
The Brent Spence Bridge maintenance project will be transitioning to Phase 3 this weekend, weather permitting. During this time, crews will begin shifting lane closures from the two center lanes to the two western-most lanes.
SOUTHBOUND Beginning Saturday, August 5 at approximately 6 a.m., travel on I-71/75 southbound will be reduced to one lane across the Brent Spence Bridge. Two-lane travel will resume no later than 5 a.m. on Monday, August 7. Once two-lane travel resumes, we will be in the Phase 3 traffic pattern.
NORTHBOUND
Beginning Monday, August 7 at 9 p.m., periodic overnight lane closures will take place on I-71/75 northbound.
Two-lane travel will resume no later than 5 a.m. on Tuesday, August 8. Drivers wanting to take I-71 north during the nighttime closures should detour across SR 562 (Norwood Lateral) or SR 126 (Ronald Reagan Cross County Highway) once in Ohio. Once two-lane travel resumes, we will be in the Phase 3 traffic pattern.
During Phase 3, travel will shift to the two eastern-most lanes on both decks of the bridge; the two western-most lanes on both decks will be closed. Drivers should plan ahead and know which lane they need to be in to reach their destinations.
