Messa ge from Edward Phillips, Chapter President
Partner, EisnerAmper LLP

Hi Everyone.

I hope your 2017 is off to a great start!  As your chapter president, some of my goals are to continue our tradition of great networking and educational events; and to provide more opportunities to our members to get involved. Another goal is Board renewal. Many of us have been around for a long time and a number of people are rolling off the Board in the next several years. Part of the renewal is identifying our future leaders and giving them a chance to shine. Get involved and make a difference. This is your call to action.

If you want to become more involved, please reach out to one of the
following Board members.

Treasurer: Joseph Pellerite, Baker Tilly (Finance Committee)

Vice President of Programming: Josef Mintz, Blank Rome LLP

Vice President of Marketing: Robyn Pollack, Saul Ewing LLP

Vice President of Membership: Wayne Weitz. EisnerAmper LLP

Vice Presidents of Sponsorships: Mike Moore, Wells Fargo Bank NA and
Gary Scharmett, Stradley Ronon Stevens and Young LLP

Chair of Charitable Activities Committee: Daniel Stella, Bank of America
Merrill Lynch

Co-Chairs of NOW: Regina Kelbon, Blank Rome LLP and Jennifer Kirwin,
Deloitte Financial Advisory Services LLP

Chair of NextGen: Evan Miller, Bayard PA

One more thing, the officers and committee chairs have been given the
directive to develop their committees and identify their eventual
successors. Don't wait to be called. Surprise us with your interest and
volunteer!

I have a couple of other modest goals, but I'm going to keep you in
suspense on those for the time being.

On January 26, our year kicked off with the TMA NOW Casino Night that
drew a big crowd to the Ritz Carlton for a great evening of table
games and networking. Speaking of NOW, I wanted to congratulate the
chapter members for their election to the 2017 Global NOW Committee:
Jamie Edmonson-Venable LLP, Randi Hershgordon-Adams Business Credit
LLC, Rachel Mauceri- Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP and Robyn
Pollack-Saul Ewing LLP.

On February 7, we did a joint program entitled Board Leadership During
Distress at the Union League with the National Association of
Corporate Directors. Well over 100 people from both organizations were
in attendance. Regina Kelbon from Blank Rome LLP and Scott Victor from
SSG Capital Advisors LLC were panelists.

This Friday, the Wharton Distressed Investing Conference will take place at the Plaza Hotel in New York.

Looking forward, on March 1, our NextGen group is having its first
event of the year at Yards Brewing Company. Being a fan of Yards beer,
having visited the brewery and taken the tour, I highly recommend
attending, even if you're like me and might appear a tad old for
NextGen.

The event formerly known last year as the Ninth Annual Villanova
Education and Networking Conference has been renamed the 10th Annual
Credit & Restructuring Summit. Why? Aside from another year passing,
it's moving to Center City and will be held at the Union League. Don't
miss the always entertaining Judicial Jeopardy with the Eastern
District's Chief Judge Frank participating; or Views from the Bench
with Judge FizSimon from the Eastern District and Judge Gross from
Delaware. This is a joint effort with our friends at the New York
Institute of Credit, the Philadelphia Chapter of the Commercial
Finance Association and the ABF Journal. Please plan to support this
always popular event on March 30.

Planning for the Mid-Atlantic Regional Symposium is well under way.
The Symposium, a joint effort of the Philadelphia, New Jersey and
Chesapeake chapters will take place June 7-8 in Atlantic City. Mark
Felger from Cozen O'Connor is our Chapter's co-Chair this year. It's a
fantastic event and if you've never been, I highly encourage you to
attend. We are in the process of finalizing a new venue and you will
hear more about that soon.

Several former chapter presidents have been extraordinarily generous
with their time the past several months, as I prepared to take over the
Presidency of the chapter. I want to acknowledge our Chairman Michael
Goodman of SSG Capital Advisors LLC, his partner, Scott Victor (TMA's
Global Immediate Past Chairperson this year), Linda McDonough of 50
Words Marketing LLC (our chapter's Immediate Past Chairperson), and
Jeffrey Hampton of Saul Ewing LLP (TMA's Global Corporate Secretary)
and thank them for their time and wise counsel.

In closing, I wanted to say that nobody has a monopoly on good ideas.
If you think there's something we should be doing to strengthen our
chapter, have an idea for an educational or networking event, please
let us know.
