Galaxy Gala: An Out of this World Success! Over $145,000 Raised
|
Over 300 galaxy explorers, aka guests of the Pflugerville Education Foundation's Galaxy Gala, beamed in on February 1, 2020 to the Courtyard Marriott in Pflugerville for some cosmic fun. CBS Austin Chief Meteorologist, Chikage Windler, was a superstar emcee.
The Galaxy Gala hit an out of this world record, exceeding last year's goal by twenty-seven percent over last year's event, thanks to our generous supporters who participated in the stellar silent auction, the big bang bottle pull, and the pacey paddles up.
With the help of major sponsors like Webber, St. David's North Austin Medical Center, and Pfluger Architects, the Foundation will be able to use funds raised at the Galaxy Gala for innovative teaching grants, professional development and student scholarships.

We’re teaching students how to become members of society, how to make friends, how to be self-confident, how to treat each other, and how to be self-motivated to reach goals.

2018 District Teacher of the Year, Annalee Miller, inspired guests with her presentation. Mrs. Miller's 4th grade class and other children at Pflugerville Elementary School are exploring coding skills and media thanks to a grant from the Pflugerville Education Foundation. Mrs. Miller created a Technology Club to inspire her students to explore different careers.
