ATTENTION: NCDHHS RECOMMENDATIONS REGARDING VISITATION IN LONG TERM CARE FACILITIES TO REDUCE RISK OF TRANSMISSION OF COVID-19
March 13, 2020 (2nd update)
The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS) just released the following document (Click Here) regarding visitation in long term care facilities to reduce risk of transmission of COVID-19. Of note, these are nearly identical to the recommendations we issued to you earlier this week from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Guidance to Nursing Homes.
Reducing resident exposure to individuals who are potentially infected with COVID-19 is of paramount importance since our residents are among the highest risk group for infection and mortality from this virus.
