California Waterfowl's Hunt Program kicked off the 2018-19 hunting season with dove hunts scattered throughout the state. We had many happy and successful hunters who hunted with CICC Outdoor Adventures, Fowl Pursuer Outdoor Adventures, Orchard Creek Conservation Bank and others.
October is right around the corner. Don't forget the September 15 application deadline for all October hunts including opening day hunts and a very special PLM Junior Deer tag. We also have a few first come, first served hunts available at locations all over the state!

CWA LEGISLATIVE UPDATE
The state Legislature has concluded its work for 2018. CWA policy staff worked tirelessly this year on many detrimental bills and also promoted legislation that would be beneficial to wetlands and hunting.

SUMMER BANDING WRAPS UP: 1,445 TOTAL BIRDS BANDED
Our 2018 summer banding wrapped up recently and it ROCKED! CWA waterfowl biologists and volunteers banded 1,445 total birds all over Sacramento Valley and the Grasslands. Banding efforts will now focus on pre-season pintail trapping. Click here for the complete story and a complete species rundown.

RECORD ATTENDANCE FOR CWA SUMMER ACTIVITIES
It was a record-breaking summer for California Waterfowl as attendance at Grizzly Ranch's summer camps and clinics hit an all-time high. We held six 5-day summer camps that reached 175 future hunters. We also held a military appreciation fun shoot and a pair of family fun shoots. The summer "season" ends this weekend with a sold out youth hunter camp.
