Research and presentations
Assistant Professor Hong Vu, doctoral student Jiang Liefu, and Associate Professor Peter Bobkowski have had their manuscript titled "What influences media effects on public perception: A cross-national study of comparative agenda setting" accepted for publication in the International Communication Gazette. The manuscript looks at the relationship between national factors (e.g. economic development, freedom of press, media content, and public opinion) in 16 countries. The study used a big data approach to analyze nearly 80,000 news articles from 31 newspapers in those 16 countries. This project involved several international researchers from some of those nations.
