Fall is a perfect time to take a walk, jog or bike ride in North Richland Hills! Did you know that  there are over 30 miles of trails that connect to parks, neighborhoods, local businesses and city facilities! Check  out this video and then check out the NRH Trail System! 
 
NRH Monarch Restoration Program

NRH has several Monarch Waystations installed around the City. The locations include: at the NRH Common Ground Community Garden, at Dr. Pillow Park and along the John Barfield Trail. These Waystations are a part of the NRH Monarch Restoration Program. The goal of the program is to invite citizens to participate by providing waystations for monarchs to stop at on their migration route and to help with the restoration of the recently declining monarch population. 'Round the Town with Oscar Monthly Bike Rides & Walks Conclude for in October for 2018
Join Mayor Oscar Trevino for the last 'Round the Town with Oscar monthly bike ride and 1 mile walk of the 2018 season. The Bike Ride on Tuesday, October 9 will be a "Back the Blue" ride. Riders are encouraged to wear blue to show support for all of our law enforcement personnel. The October ride begins at 6:00 p.m. from the newly renovated Northfield Park, 7804 Davis Boulevard. Then, j oin the Mayor on his monthly 1 mile walk on Thursday, October 11 at 6:15 p.m. This leisurely walk will begin also at Northfield Park, 7804 Davis Boulevard.  More info here. Family Movie Night INDOORS at the NRH Centre
Come on out to the NRH Centre Family Movie Night on Saturday, September 8 from 7:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. at the NRH Centre, 6000 Hawk Avenue. The Disney Pixar family movie Coco will be shown and the event is free and 
for all ages. Bring your chairs, blankets and snacks and concessions will be available for purchase. Due to the potential inclement weather with the weekend forecast, the Family Movie Night WILL MOVE INDOORS to the NRH Centre (gymnasium). All special featured activities will be available for your enjoyment! Enter the NRH Centre on the north side of the facility at the flag poles. We look forward to seeing you on Saturday, September 8, doors open at 6:30 p.m., Ballet Folklorico Azteca will perform at 7:00 p.m. and the movie starts at 7:30 p.m. For more information call 817-427-6600.
NRH Road Runner 5K
Early Bird Registration f or the 2018 NRH Road Runner 5K Run/1 mile Walk to be held on  Saturday, October  6 is going on now!  The 2018 NRH Road Runner 5K will benefit Children's Literacy through the NRH Library, the NRH Community Enrichment Center, and H.E.L.P Inc., a non-profit organization that helps orphans in Nigeria. The NRH Road Runner 5K Run/Walk is a timed event that begins at Green Valley Park and winds through the beautiful John Barfield and Calloway Branch Trails. Cash prizes will be awarded for Overall 1st, 2nd and 3rd place Male and Female and Overall Masters Male and Female (50+). Awards presented three deep in each age group for the 5k Run.  Special Race Day Guest, Mr. Orville Rodgers: the Running Man, who at the age of 100 continues to inspire, motivate and challenge others to enjoy everything life offers.  Stay after the run to enjoy the energizing sounds of

Eagles Tribute Band Desperado Featured at  Outdoor Concert and Laser Show

A FREE laser light and music spectacular is coming to North Richland Hills on Saturday, October 6. Pooch Amy will open the show at 6:40 p.m. followed by a concert featuring the Eagles tribute band, Desperado, at 7 p.m. in front of NRH City Hall at 4301 City Point Drive. The 90-minute concert will conclude with a 20-minute laser light show presented by Laser Spectacles of Austin. Food trucks will be on-site, and music lovers of all ages are encouraged to bring their blankets and lawn chairs to relax picnic-style under the stars for this free, outdoor, family-friendly event. The Lights and Music Concert is sponsored by the City of NRH and Visionary Martial Arts.
Hoot n' Howl
A spooktacular NRH family tradition continues in 2018 with Hoot n' Howl on Saturday, October 27 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Green Valley Park, 7701 Smithfield Road. Activities will include: live Owls, a haunted hayride, midway games, tot games, storytelling, puppet show, performances by community groups and candy for all. Admission, parking and activities are free and concessions will be available for purchase. Volunteers from area schools and community organizations will assist with the games and activities.
