Coronavirus and Kids
1. COVID-19 and Kids
  • This virus is behaving very differently from other respiratory viruses, like influenza, which are usually more virulent in infants and older adults or those with chronic disease.

  • In China, only 2.4% of reported cases were children and only 0.2% of reported cases were children who became critically ill, according to the World Health Organization.

  • Figuring out why children are so unaffected could lead to breakthroughs in understanding how COVID-19 works in different immune systems and ages

  • Kids don’t like to keep face masks on, so if needed, don’t forget about your distraction tools and skills!

  • Be creative and fun in getting children to wash hands and practice other hygiene measures

Below are resources regarding children and coronavirus. Keep in mind that this a rapidly changing situation and there are many resources available.
