The Chamber Notebook:
Sputnikfest

The Perfect Blend of History and Absurdity!

56 years after the steaming piece of space junk known as Sputnik IV crashed down in the middle of 8th Street, it's time to celebrate with Sputnikfest 2018! Be hokey, fun and ridiculous! A galaxy full of entertainment awaits those that come to celebrate Manitowoc's link to the Space Age.

The 11th Annual Sputnikfest will take place on September 8th at the Rahr-West Art Museum, 610 North 8th Street (at the corner of Park Street), Manitowoc. The fun begins with Aliens in the Alley on Friday at 5pm and runs through Saturday!

Music from local rockers Shocker will fill the Sputnikfest grounds on Friday, Sept. 7, beginning at 7pm. Earlier, sci-fi trivia nuts can test their knowledge in the "Out of this World" Trivia Contest.

The Legendary Ms. Space Debris Pageant breaks into the Main Stage at 8:30pm on Friday night. The winner will reign supreme over Sputnikfest and serve as the ambassador of the festival for the following year. The only requirements are that you be HUMAN. Our sponsors are Rose Colored Glasses Salon and Spa and CAVU Flight Academy!
