HELP WANTED
The annual observance of Shavuot celebrates the mitzvah of tzedakah by leaving the gleanings of our fields to the less fortunate. At our Nearly New sale our gleanings are offered to the less fortunate at an affordable price that allows those with fewer means to preserve their dignity by not merely accepting handouts. The sales proceeds also help mitigate our expenses throughout the year.
The more donations we receive the more we can provide. The more we can provide the more it helps both the Shir Chadash and our greater communities. We can accept donations of
almost
any
gently used household item, clothing or furnishing. except upholstered furniture, knives and old TV's and computers. Unsold items are then donated to local charities.
You can help not only by donating no longer needed items, but also by volunteering your time. Preparing for the sale requires a large amount of time. Volunteering in this effort could allow us to bond with old friends from the greater Shir Chadash community and make new ones. Any volunteering of time is truly appreciated.
There is no set schedule for each volunteer, but any help you can give is welcome.
This annual event has always been a success for the synagogue and for the greater community. With the ongoing support of our Shir Chadash family we can continue to grow and thrive.
