In this week's parsha, Bamidbar, we read the passage "these are the offspring of Aharon and Moshe..." followed by a listing of only Aharon's sons. Why are they also called the offspring of Moshe? Rashi and Ramban suggest that Moshe's Torah instruction to Aharon's sons transformed him into their spiritual father. We can learn from this that teaching Torah gives life to our students.

Geometry Kickball
Mr. Riklin's third grade class introduced Geometry by going over angles, perimeter, area, degrees, percentages, and fractions by analyzing and playing a game of kickball.
The students made the infield by combining four 90 degree angles to make a diamond. They practiced the technique by linking together the thumbs and forefingers of their teammates to make a diamond. Once this was completed, they put a real-world spin on it by placing a base on each of the corners.
