COVID-19 Update

March 12, 2020

As the coronavirus (COVID-19), continues to spread, The Memorial Library of Nazareth and Vicinity is committed to maintaining essential library services for our users while ensuring the health and safety of our patrons and staff.

At this time, the library will remain open during regular hours. We increased our cleaning and disinfecting regimen, including an increased focus on cleaning high-touch or shared surfaces, public computer keyboards, elevator buttons, service countertops, and doorknobs. The staff removed nonessential high-touch items such as puzzles, toys, etc. In the interest of protecting the high-risk populations we serve and the high-risk populations who volunteer for us, the library is temporarily suspending all programs, events, meeting room bookings and outreach services through March 31.

We are monitoring both staff and patrons for symptoms and our staff are practicing social distancing. The library staff reserves the right to ask a patron to leave the library if a patron is displaying symptoms of disruptive coughing and sneezing.

The library is actively monitoring the situation through local and county health and government agencies, as well as others in the public library industry to follow all recommended guidelines for the cleaning and operation of the library.

We will continue to communicate any further impacts to the library as a result of COVID-19. As a reminder, the Library has many digital services available to you for free, such as eBooks and digital access to databases. Visit us online at www.nazarethlibrary.org.

Thank you for your understanding as we do our best to maintain the health of our staff and the public. Please check our website for updates and more information.
