The Census is used to determine the number of seats each state has in Congress, how federal and state legislative districts are redrawn and how billions of dollars in federal funding flow into states and communities each year. This funding is for school lunches, highways, firefighters, families in need and more. Census results affect our community.
The 2020 Census starts this month. Next week, residents will begin to receive letters to respond to the 2020 Census.
For the first time, the U.S. Census Bureau will accept responses online and phone, but you can still respond by mail if you prefer.
To help navigate the process, here is a video that demonstrates the Census online questionnaire.
