Preparing Each Student for a Successful Future

Greetings!

Smore is FINALLY up and ready to use! The video below has been created to help you get started. Since most of you are already experienced Smore users, feel free to skip around. A few key pieces to remember about this new account that might be different from the free accounts are below:

*These are shared accounts. Each grade level in each building, as well as our EC staff, has an account. Although shared, you have autonomy in how you use this in your specific classroom.

*LOGIN INFORMATION CAN BE FOUND HERE! This information can also be found on Google Drive. You can login at Smore.com.

*Be sure to build a mailing list as your first step! You can create as many mailing lists as you need.

*When creating a flyer you now have many more background choices, and even have the ability to upload your own photo (custom background)!

*Be sure to unclick the top four settings under the "Flyer Settings" tab on every newsletter you send. This is because it's a shared account and could cause confusion if those items are left on newsletters.

*Before sending, be sure to change the "FROM" information to your name and email address. Otherwise, when parents reply to the newsletter it will go to an unknown email account. This is super important!

*You can see analytics for each individual newsletter you send!

*The newsletters will be sent via Smore. The actual newsletter will show up in the email parents receive, no more URL links needed. However, you do have the ability to grab a URL of the newsletter to share in other classroom communication tools (website, Seesaw, etc.)

*Be sure to create a Smore folder (under the Your Flyer tab) to store your flyers in as this is a shared account. Then, after you send a flyer place it in your folder (hover over flyer, select "options" and "add to folder" and then select your folder).

*You can duplicate a previous flyer (under the Your Flyer tab) by hovering over the flyer you want to duplicate, select "options" and then "duplicate flyer."

*The Educator Hive is a resource to see what other educators have created in Smore and to share yours!

*You can also build classrooms in Smore which provides free accounts for your students.
