The law is changing quickly and we are doing our best to keep our clients abreast as to the latest news and developments with social media posts and webinars.

Follow us on  FACEBOOK  to be kept in the loop about our activities and developments. If you miss any of our webinars, we post them all on our YOUTUBE page as well. If you would like our page or subscribe to our channel while you're there, that would be much appreciated!

We are here to help you and your family. Please do not hesitate to call us if you have any questions. In the meantime, stay safe, and wash your hands.

COVID-19 Update for Small Businesses
Between the FFCRA, the CARES Act, with its payroll tax credits, changes to unemployment, and loan programs, businesses need to keep many things in mind as they try to keep their doors open. We provided a guide on our blog and continue to update our clients on important developments.

" The legal landscape surrounding businesses and COVID19 is changing quickly. We will continue to stay current and be a resource for our clients as best we can."

Will Your College Kid’s Wishes Be Honored in Case of an Emergency?
While most people think that the coronavirus is mainly affecting older individuals, young people can be stricken by it as well. It is important to ensure that you know your son's or daughter's wishes and they have the proper paperwork in place. We discussed this on the blog several months ago and it is worth sharing again.

YOUR MONTHLY LEGAL TIPS
TIP #1 - New I-9 Form Must be Used Starting May 1
Perhaps lost in the shuffle of everything that's been going on, the USCIS released a new version of the I-9 employment eligibility verification form. The new version must be used starting May 1, 2020. We have made copies available on our website .
TIP #2 - Work with Your Accountant
In addition to loans and grants, there are several payroll tax breaks available to business owners. You should make sure that you are working with your accountant or CPA to make sure you are getting all of the breaks that you are entitled to.
TIP #3 - FFCRA Posters
In addition to posting the FFCRA posters, if your employees are working from home, you will need to email or mail the posters to your employees. If you're unsure how to best distribute the posters to your employees, let us know and we will advise you.
"if you do not have Advance Directives, then you have not properly done estate planning. An advance directive is a legal document that allows you to appoint a fiduciary to make decisions for you while you are still alive"
Advance Directives for Health Care During Covid-19
While many people think that an estate plan means having a will or trust in place, there is more to a complete estate plan than just that. Advance directives, like Powers of Attorney or Living Wills, let you express your wishes for when you need other people to take care of you. In this post, Matt Rosenthal looks at health care directives and why they are more important now than ever before.

The FFCRA has a new poster requirement.
