Our vision is to have a community where no kittens are born wild on the street, no cat  capable of living in a home is lacking one, and no feral cats are wanting for food, water,  and appropriate care and concern.

SAFCC at the Brooks Wellness event

Last month SAFCC attended the Animal Health Awareness Event at Brooks Spay/Neuter Health Clinic. They had a great turnout! The line to get in and sign up for wellness services was so long that the end of it couldn't be seen from the front. Inside there were several vendors for flea prevention, and H-E-B provided samples of dog and cat food.

Our volunteers talked to people about TNR, what we do, and handed out literature. Two very sweet kids gave a donation and the children loved the stuffed kitty in our demo trap!

Thanks to Brooks Spay&Neuter Health Clinic for having this event for the public to receive wellness services and client education, and for inviting other groups such as SAFCC to participate!

We need event volunteers! If you would like to help at future events and have attended our TNR class, please email us  HERE.

Different Ways to Give to SAFCC

People over age 70 and 1/2 are able to transfer up to $100,000 annually from their IRAs to a registered charity, tax-free. The gift counts towards their required minimum distribution for the year, but is not included in their adjusted gross income.  This can be a great way to avoid paying taxes on your RMD and it gives you a tax break even if you don't itemize your deductions.

You can also make a donation of stocks, bonds or mutual funds. Compared to donating cash or selling your highly appreciated securities and then donating that cash, you may be able to automatically increase your gift and your tax deduction - another great way to donate to SAFCC! Please email HERE if you want to learn more!

(San Antonio Feral Cat Coalition does not purport to give financial advice. Please check with your tax advisor to see if either of these giving strategies would be appropriate for your financial situation and feel free to contact us for further details.)

Partnerships help CCAP get cats and kittens off the street

In August, SAFCC teamed up with Community Cat Crusaders in Converse to TNR four adult cats and kittens. The kittens were friendly but sick and were placed with a CCAP foster and treated for giardia. Once healthy, they were transferred to the Austin Humane Society to be adopted out to loving homes.

In mid August, SAFCC teamed up with the Lytle Animal Shelter, which had taken in a friendly female 8-week-old kitten born with several birth defects. T his kitten is otherwise healthy, loving and fearless and will undergo amputation of her rear left leg, which developed an almost a 180-degree twist. She will also have surgery for a missing eye. The Lytle Animal Shelter was kind enough to sponsor her surgery and a CCAP foster is making sure she receives all the love and care she needs until she is ready for adoption.

It certainly takes a village to help the cats in our community. If you want to support the work our Community Cat Adoption Program does, you can donate HERE.
SAFCC cat of the month-Gremlin

Hi, my name is Gremlin. I am a very handsome, 2 yo, Blue and White male. I had a human mom once but she had to leave town suddenly and could not take me with her so she had to give me up.  I am very friendly with people and other cats. I have always been indoors and lived with two other cats and children.

I'm very laid back but still like to play, explore new things, and am overall just a big and lovable guy. I like to take naps and like lots of rubs. As you can tell eat I eat all my food and treats. My coat is very thick but short.

If you would like to meet me call/text Lorraine at 210-471-8462. Email: crazykattlady67@gmail.com
