We hope you all enjoyed the gorgeous sunshine last week and had a chance to get outside.
We are very excited to give a very special thank you to one of our amazing volunteers, our VP of Community Outreach, Blanca. For several years, Blanca has been the voice and liaison for our Latino Community. She works tirelessly both at RHS and in the community to bring amazing events to our Spanish-speaking community and to bridge the gap helping us to create a more inclusive and unified Mustang Community. From translating all of our communications, to planning events, to opening lines of communication, Blanca is an integral part of our RHS PTSA team and we are so thankful to have her on board.
One of the events Blanca has been working on is a
four-week Mental Health Workshop for Spanish speaking parents in our community. The title of the workshop is "
Parenting in the United States: Communication and Discipline with Empathy" and will run for four consecutive Mondays in March. Please click the button below to learn more about this amazing event.

2020 VISION SURVEY - ONE WEEK LEFT
We are conducing a survey for parents/guardians of Redmond High School students to learn what future programs families would be interested in having at Redmond High School.

RHS PTSA SCHOLARSHIPS
The Redmond High School PTSA is excited to
offer scholarships of $1,000 to up to 6 deserving seniors this year! Our scholarships are
not just for students with perfect GPAs and jam-packed activity schedules. Have you made a positive impact on student life at RHS? Have you made a difference in the community? Have you overcome challenges while balancing school, work and family responsibilities? We encourage you to apply! Applications are available in the College and Career Center or may be downloaded from the RHS PTSA website.
The deadline to apply is Friday, April 24, 2020. Scholarship winners will be presented at the PTSA Meeting in June. Contact the Scholarship Chair with any questions.

WSPTA ESSAY CONTEST
This statewide essay contest explores the important and varied influencers in the lives and education of children – from the children’s perspective. The essay contest is a platform for students to share their appreciation. The contest is open to all students in grades K-12. The application deadline is March 1 each year. RHS CHEER TRY-OUT INFORMATION
The RHS Varsity Cheer Team is a co-ed team of athletes in grades 9-12. Try-outs for the 2020-2021 season will be held on
Monday, April 13th - Thursday, April 16th, from 3-5 PM in the RHS gym. Try-out packets will be available in the RHS Athletic office and online beginning March 9th. Packets and LWSD athletic clearance are due no later than April 3rd at 3:00 PM.
There is a
MANDATORY Pre-Tryout meeting for all athletes and parents on Wednesday, March 25, at 7:00 in the RHS Library. The try-out format, mandatory schedule requirements, parent volunteer expectations, and estimated budgets will be discussed. All athletes planning to try out,
with at least one parent, must attend this meeting to be eligible to try out.

COLLEGE EXPLORATION FIELD TRIP - 10th & 11th GRADERS
Date: Tuesday, March 24th from 8:15 am to 12:30 pm
College Planning Day on the UW Bothell Campus –
Explore some of Washington State’s higher education options as over 25 colleges from across the state will be in attendance to share information with you. Students will be able to choose four-30 minute informational sessions to attend. Transportation is free! Pick up permission forms in the College & Career Center, Room E111.
Space is limited and will be filled on a first come basis. Signed Permission forms must be returned no later than Monday, March 9th at 12:30 pm. Late forms will not be accepted. Contact Andrea Cothran with any questions.
