The Group of Seven (also known as the Algonquin School 1920-1933) whose paintings have influenced Michael's new paintings. Above is a painting by Franklin Carmichael.
I am including this painting done by Michael in 2019 about a year after the Lake Christine Fire in Basalt. Those of us who were here can surely identify with the scene (note the slurry line that saved the town of Basalt)and the title.
