Ascension Lutheran Church

Join Social Action Co-Chairs Harold & Marcia Gordon at this community event.

Did you know that there is a Refugee Welcoming Team in the Conejo Valley? For the past two years, this team has been helping newly arrived refugees settle into their new homes. Members of the team have taken them to appointments, provided furniture, taught English, helped with job searches, driving lessons, childcare, tutoring and much more. The team will hold the second annual potluck dinner, open to the community, to highlight what has been done and the opportunities that are still available to help. Speakers will include a recently resettled refuge.

No RSVP is required. Bring any pot luck dinner item to share.

The Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism has launched a nonpartisan campaign to mobilize to fulfill our sacred mandate of  tikkun olam , repairing the world, and ensure that Reform Jewish voices are heard during the upcoming 2018 midterm elections.

With guidance from the Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism, TAE has formed a committee committed to voter engagement. This nonpartisan group will be focused on getting people to vote and planning candidate forums. If you are interested in being on the committee, contact Penny Greenblatt at socialaction@adatelohim.com .

Can You Help?
Join the Team and Help Plan an Upcoming Social Action Event

TAE has a rich social action tradition. Each year we have many wonderful projects and opportunities that benefit both the recipients and the volunteers. Many of these events are planned by members of TAE.

We can use your help to plan or lead an upcoming event. Might you be interested in helping to plan Mitzvah Day (11/4/18) or the Community Holiday Dinner (12/25/18)? Perhaps another event peaks your interest or you have an idea for something new for our community. If so, please contact Marcia or Harold Gordon at socialaction@adatelohim.com . Whether you've planned events in the past or are new to getting involved, we invite you to contact us to learn more.
Homeless / Community Meals
TAE is proud to participate with other faith communities in the Conejo Valley to ensure that a hot meal and sack lunch is available to those in need throughout the year. TAE provides the meal on the 4th Wednesday of each month (April - November) at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Westlake Village. You can drop of your portion of the meal or stay and serve. Please contact the shelter committee at taeshelter@yahoo.com  for more information and to sign up to bring a meal.
Caring Community of TAE needs your help!

Our Caring Community is dedicated to reaching out to those in our TAE community who are in need.

Do you have some time to make a few phone calls to people who are in need to let them know that their TAE family is thinking of them? Do you have time to visit people who are in need of some company while they are ill? If you can help, please contact Cantor David at dshukiar@adatelohim.com (805) 497-7101. Please also contact Cantor David if you know someone in need.
