?? HOW BEST TO SUPPORT... That's the question being asked in many (virtual) circles. With the front door closed for most businesses, the question comes down to, "how can I best support"? - ONE WAY - GIFT CERTIFICATES. Throughout the land right now, there is over $12,000 worth of Vergennes Green (VG) in circulation. Don't lose it; just USE IT! Circulate Vergennes Green and treat it like a check. Use your VG to purchase a gift certificate from a local business of your choice. Keep the $$$ moving and into the immediate hands of local businesses! Vergennes Business Phone List Note, the Partnership website contains links to most Vergennes businesses websites. If you cannot reach a business at this time, contact the Partnership office to assist.)
BEST TO BEGIN NOW... The Agency of Transportation (VTrans) has proposed completing coarse milling in the downtown portion of the Vergennes paving project prior to Memorial Day. VTrans and the City of Vergennes agree that this is the best way to proceed in order to significantly reduce the impact of construction on local business during the summer months. A change from the originally stated timeline, the hope is to begin work next week in order to get as much done while businesses are largely closed and vehicular traffic is at a minimum. For more information or to join the VTrans mailing list for regular updates, click her e.
WHERE TO GO FOR LOCAL HELP... Depending on the need, resources are available from a myriad of sources. The VP Newsletter is primarily intended to promote and disseminate information as it relates to downtown Vergennes. Click here for resources that may serve your immediate health and safety needs - or visit the City's website: vergennes.org .

Lots of Action on the Basin Block!

Quietly setting up shop last fall on the 2nd floor of 229 Main is FootWoRx. Owner Ro n Houser, C.Ped. is a well known, ABC certified Pedorthist who has been evaluating and curing foot and leg problems for athletes and “everyday victims of gravity” since 2005 in Manchester, Vermont. His custom foot beds can eliminate pain, decrease the chances of serious injury, and improve athletic performance.  Read on...
The Blue Lily Clothing Company , located in the former Everywear space opened early March. Char Goodell was thrilled with the initial response to the shop and excited to be a part of the downtown Vergennes business community - and we were too! Then along came COVID-19... note from Char: It is my regret that The Blue Lily Clothing Company will be closed until further notice. We care and appreciate our patrons and want to keep everyone safe during this troubling time. Be safe, stay healthy and be there for your neighbors. Much love and prayers to all. TBLCC
Meanwhile, on the Ryan Block....

Making a difference in the community for over a dozen years, Sweet Charity attracts people from far and wide to visit the sweet little resale shop at 141 Main.

Created by a group of civic-minded women known as Women of Wisdom, the shop provides a continual source of funding for the work offered by End of Life Services along with various local philanthropic projects chosen by Women of Wisdom.

Closed for a recent 'do-over' a few weeks ago, the shop re-opened with a fresh, clean look - and the response from all was "WOW"! Temporarily closed due to the COVID-19 outbreak like most everyone, check out their new website and follow them on Facebook and Instagram .
