School Closure Update: Saturday, March 14
We want to thank all of our students, families, and employees for your patience and grace during this challenging and uncertain time. We understand the tremendous disruption that school closures will have on our students, staff, and families, and we are sorry for those impacts.

At this time, we intend to provide at least once-daily updates to our community through all of our available communication channels. We'll stay connected the following ways:
This is not only a fluid, evolving situation, but our ability to transition to an extended and unprecedented closure is very much a work-in-progress, changing day by day.

Here is what you need to know today:

What happened today? Today the Board of Education held an emergency meeting to ratify our decision to close all schools for a period up to and including Spring Break. Pending further direction from Sacramento County Public Health, schools are scheduled to reopen Tuesday, April 14. After the Board meeting, our Superintendent and Cabinet team began planning operations for Monday. Keep reading for details.

Who reports to work Monday? All members of the Management team (including Confidential), Education Services Center (ESC) employees, Maintenance & Operations staff, custodians, and Transportation employees (except bus drivers and attendants) must report to their regular work locations on Monday. All other staff do not report to work Monday.

Can any other staff members who are not listed above come to work Monday, March 16? No. In addition to Monday being a critical planning day, our custodians will also be performing a deep clean of our sites, which must be uninterrupted. We will notify any other staff if and when they can report to work.

What can I expect between now and Monday, March 16? Supervisors will communicate with their respective staff members who are coming to work Monday with more details. Additionally, tomorrow (Sunday, March 15), we will distribute through all of our available communication channels (including our website, www.fcusd.org/coronavirus) answers we are able to provide to some of the most common questions we've received to date, including the latest information about student meals, distance learning, employee compensation, resources for families, and more.
