A Message from the Director

As the world is adjusting to a new reality caused by COVID-19 pandemic, so are we at EPICentre It has been two weeks since  we   closed our physical office s  and  transitioned  to working remotely.  Nevertheless,  we are working diligently to serve our clients as well as our communities.  More than ever, entrepreneurs need all they help they can get to survive during this crisis.   
W e have just wrapped up our first  EPIC VentureWomen Program , a program to support woman-led startups . Due to the closure caused by COVID-19, we have rescheduled the Final Pitch Day, which originally scheduled for March 30 th  to a later date where  one team  will claim the Top VentureWoman Prize of $3,000 in cash sponsored by Lucas Imagine Fund. Stay tuned for further information.   
The application for the 2020  RBC EPIC Founders Program  has just opened. This is a 12-weeks accelerator program sponsored by RBC Foundation where successful participants will receive up to $6,000 to work on their business ideas in summer.  
As we all know, frontline healthcare workers everywhere are in need of personal protective equipment   to protect them from cat c hing the virus while treating patients.  While we are currently coordinating with a few organizations  in our community to see  if our makerspace's  3D printers and laser cutter can be used to make face shields , please contact us if you know of  other projects where our equipment can be used to help .    
Finally, I want to share this as a board member for the Windsor Essex Community Foundation. WECF just   establish ed  the Emergency Response Fund to support charities impacted by COVID-19. If you are able to help, please visit their  website  for more information.

All in-person events workshops  and meetings  have been cancelled. Social Enterprise Forum Recap


On March 12th the EPICentre hosted their annual Social Enterprise Forum. The event found entrepreneurs, students and community members all united to create change in their neighbourhood, industry and world. Startups Receive Coaching Services from Law Students


Under Professor Myra Tawfik's supervision, 7 law students provided information and coaching to 12 EPICentre startup members covering aspects of business law and intellectual property law over the course of the Winter 2020 semester.
