A Message from the Director
As the world is adjusting to a new reality caused by COVID-19 pandemic, so are we at EPICentre.
It has been two weeks since
we
closed our physical office
s
and
transitioned
to working remotely.
Nevertheless,
we are working diligently to serve our clients as well as our communities.
More than ever, entrepreneurs need all they help they can get to survive during this crisis.
W
e have just wrapped up our first
EPIC VentureWomen Program
, a program to support woman-led startups
. Due to the closure caused by COVID-19, we have rescheduled the Final Pitch Day, which originally scheduled for March 30
th
to a later date where
one team
will claim the Top VentureWoman Prize of $3,000 in cash sponsored by Lucas Imagine Fund. Stay tuned for further information.
The application for the 2020
RBC EPIC Founders Program
has just opened. This is a 12-weeks accelerator program sponsored by RBC Foundation where successful participants will receive up to $6,000 to work on their business ideas in summer.
As we all know, frontline healthcare workers everywhere are in need of personal protective equipment
to protect them from cat
c
hing the virus while treating patients.
While we are currently coordinating with a few organizations
in our community to see
if our makerspace's
3D printers and laser cutter can be used to make face shields
, please contact us if you know of
other projects where our equipment can be used to help
.
Finally, I want to share this as a board member for the Windsor Essex Community Foundation. WECF just
establish
ed
the Emergency Response Fund to support charities impacted by COVID-19. If you are able to help, please visit their
website
for more information.
Thank you all for supporting each other. We will get through this together. Stay healthy!
