IMPORTANT NEWS -- BUILDING CLOSED
MONDAY, MAR 16 - FRIDAY, 27 -- INCLUDING FOR WORSHIP

We WILL hold worship and have the Mexican Luncheon on March 15.

The building will then be closed to ALL   activities, meetings and groups for March 16-27.

We will NOT hold worship on March 22, but plan to hold worship on March 29.

This aligns us with what Jeffco Schools announced last night.

Pastor Deb, Jessica and Sarah will primarily be working remotely. Feel free to reach out to them however you need.

The Great Escape will also be closed during this time, following suit of the Jeffco School District.

May Christ surround all those who are directly affected by COVID19 and we pray that as we unite with our community these containment efforts will be effective.

NEW SERMON SERIES

MOVIES THAT MATTER - STILL ON FOR TONIGHT!

The Church & Society Team invites you to join them for a cinematic journey to watch some of the best movies that send a clear message for how to apply our faith in the world.

TONIGHT at 7pm we'll be showing "Same Kind of Different As Me". Based on the NY Times bestselling novel, the movie tells the true story of the relationship between a white, wealthy art dealer and a black man who suffers homelessness, poverty, racism, and even modern-day slavery.

After the movie, we'll gather in our Fellowship Hall for dessert and discussion. Our goal is to be entertained, but also to learn and take action, when we can, to make a difference in our world.

**Please note: If you have been exposed to COV19 or feeling ill, please do NOT join us for this event. Thank you for keeping everyone healthy and safe!

MISSIONS MEXICAN LUNCHEON
STILL ON FOR SUNDAY!

On Sunday, March 15th after the 10:30 Service, join the  UMCE Missions Team for their annual Mexican Lunch. Please stay after church and treat yourself to a hassle free lunch of chips, salsa, tacos, tortillas and other scrumptious Mexican dishes. Mac's famous sopapillas will be served!  There is no charge, but donations are always welcome.

This year your donations will go to support the UMCE Youth Missions trip to La Veta, Colorado this summer. They will be assisting with reforesting the area devastated by wildfires.

**Please note: If you have been exposed to COV19 or feeling ill, please do NOT join us for this event. Thank you for keeping everyone healthy and safe!

ONGOING CORONAVIRUS RESPONSE

As part of our commitment to the health and well-being of our congregation, we are carefully monitoring the evolving coronavirus situation, and are in contact with health agencies and denomination officials for information and guidance.

We continue to implement measures which are being advised for us. We began some measures last week and have added more this week.

NEW THIS WEEK
  • Building closed from March 16th through March 27th, including outside groups and worship
  • Offering plate at the back of the sanctuary instead of being passed
  • Attendance pads and sign-up clipboards not being passed
  • Additional food serving guidelines posted on the kitchen serving counter
  • Communion to be served differently on the first Sunday of the month
  • Increased daily disinfection of surfaces
  • Staff training
BEGAN LAST WEEK
  • Expectation of using auto-sanitizer dispensers when entering on Sunday mornings
  • Hugs, handshakes and holding hands on hiatus
  • Increased availability of hand sanitizer in every room
  • "Worship while you wash" signs by sinks to encourage adequate hand washing

NEW VIDEO PODCAST SERIES

Check out our inaugural mini worship experience video posting HERE. You'll find Pastor Deb's message from last Sunday along with a bit of music, prayer and Scripture. We are hopeful to begin recording parts of worship directly this coming Sunday. Much thanks to Wesley Sailor & Jessica Coons for being our production team.

ST. BALDRICK'S FOUNDATION

Nick Shapleigh is again participating in St. Baldrick's Foundation shave-a-thon and raising money to conquer childhood cancers.

"I'm shaving my head with St. Baldrick's to raise money and help conquer kids' cancers! Every 2 minutes a child is diagnosed with cancer worldwide, and 1 in 5 of those in the U.S. will not survive. I refuse to accept this reality, so I've decided to fundraise for lifesaving research to find cures and better treatments for kids.

Now I need your support! Your donation can fund research to help kids survive and thrive. Join me today and let's #DFYchildhoodCancers together."

MINISTRY JOTTINGS

What will you give me if I hand Jesus over to you? -- Matthew 26:15

Dear Lord Jesus,

Must I apologize for the whole human race, or just for myself? No matter what the subject, the main concern seems to be "What's in it for me?" Even when it comes to something as serious, and as ultimately important, as your own life and death, my Lord, I'm usually thinking of myself and my own benefit.

Judas was interested in thirty pieces of silver; have I ever turned my back on you for even less? Have I remained faithful only because of "what's in it for me"?

As it turns out, the wondrous answer is that there is always a lot in it for me when it comes to your love and mercy. And even Judas could have received this, as well as eternal life, for you died for everyone. Help me to remember all this whenever I must make a choice.

Your humble servant,

Pastor Deb
