Legislative Alert: We Need Your Help!
Congress is considering a number of programs to provide relief to Americans during the COVID-19 crisis, including sending an additional $1.4 billion in LIHEAP funding to the states. This funding could help more than 4 million households suffering financial hardship pay energy bills. Send an email today to your federal representatives and urge them to support additional LIHEAP funding in relief legislation.

Congress is deciding now on these programs, so we need you to take action as soon as possible. And ask your colleagues and customers to also send messages!

Indiana Emergency Pricing
The IPGA has full faith that our member's top priority is to the health and safety of their employees and customers during this COVID-19 pandemic but it is always a good reminder that there are orders and statutes on pricing in times of emergency. As a company you should be aware of this important information.

Hours of Service Waiver in Indiana
The FMCSA has expanded its current hours of service waiver to include the delivery of propane that is needed to provide direct assistance in support of relief efforts related to the COVID-19 outbreaks. This waiver applies in all 50 states and the District of Columbia. The waiver shall remain in place until the termination of the emergency or until 11:59 P.M. (ET) on April 12, 2020.  Click here for the service relief . If you or any of your drivers utilize the exemption, the PPGA recommends having this waiver placed with each driver in each truck.

Additionally, Governor Holcomb has issued a state specific emergency waiver for hours of service in Indiana. The waiver includes, “commercial motor vehicles, including those who deliver food, goods, and items to Indiana businesses for purchase or use by Hoosiers…” This waiver expires on April 5, 2020.

Meeting Cancellations
As many members are aware NPGA and PERC meetings have been canceled as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. The PERC Midwest Regional Meeting on March 24, 2020 has been canceled as well as the NPGA Southeastern Convention to be held in April. Please continue to monitor NPGA, PERC, and IPGA updates on these and future meetings.
Additional Resources to Address COVID-19
There is now a new section on NPGA’s website with COVID-19 response documents. To access the documents, click here , then look for “COVID-19 Documents” under “Benefits and Services.”

The documents include language that can be made specific to a company should an employee contract COVID-19, language that can be made specific to a company on general COVID-19 prevention practices, the OSHA bulletin on worker safety regarding COVID-19, a FAQ for COVID employee/employer questions, as well as a summary of marketer common practices. Please note we plan to update these materials as needed. And as this situation evolves, we also appreciate any feedback on what you or your members need.

IPGA will post information at indianapropane.com with information and updates relevant to the Indiana propane industry. Continue to check back for updates.
